In the latter part of August 60 students set to the task of becoming Digital City Planners in remembrance of the Centennial of Daniel Burnham's Plan for Chicago. They researched, compared, contrasted, designed, photographed and composed plans for the revitalization of their communities throughout the Chicago-land area.
Aside from a chance to be a voice for the often unheard, they were motivated by the chance to attend the United Nations World Habitat Day in Washington D.C. and join the global conversation, "Planning our Urban Futures". These winning students served as citizen journalists while in Washington and documented their reflections here.
Check in on Saturday, October 10th for live coverage of the World Habitat Day Celebrations at YOUmedia!
